Join the Heart of the Action at the Port Moody Golden Spike Festival!

Are you ready to dive into the excitement and be a driving force behind one of the most anticipated events in our community? The Port Moody Golden Spike Festival is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our dedicated team on the board.  The first priority of the board is the establish the Festival Budget and create the Festival Committee.  Normally all board members will be members of the Festival Committee.

As a Committee member, you'll be at the helm of planning and managing this iconic festival. We're not just looking for names on paper; we need passionate individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and take on lead roles in various aspects of the event.  Committee members do not have to be board members but will report to the board.

Here's what being a Committee member entails:

  • Monthly Meetings: Commit to attending our monthly gatherings, held every third Wednesday. It's where ideas flourish, plans take shape, and teamwork thrives.
  • Time Dedication: Be prepared to invest your time and energy into making the festival a roaring success. While it starts with a few hours a month, as the event draws nearer, your commitment may escalate to several hours a week.
  • Volunteer Spirit: Lead by example and be ready to lend a hand during the festival itself. Your presence and participation as a volunteer are integral to ensuring smooth operations and a memorable experience for all attendees.

We have a variety of roles available, catering to different skills and interests:

  • Volunteer Management: Rally the troops and coordinate our incredible team of volunteers.
  • Sponsorship: Forge partnerships and secure vital support from businesses and organizations.
  • Grant Applications: Seek out and apply for grants to secure additional funding for the festival's success!
  • Logistics: Mastermind the behind-the-scenes logistics to keep everything running like clockwork.
  • Marketing: Spread the word far and wide, ensuring the festival reaches every corner of our community.
  • Vendor Relations: Curate an eclectic mix of vendors and ensure their experience is top-notch.
  • Family Activities: Create magical moments for families and children to cherish.
  • Beverage (Liquor) Service: Oversee the libations, ensuring everyone stays refreshed and responsible.
  • 50/50: Manage the exciting 50/50 draw, adding an extra element of fun and fundraising to the festival!
  • Parking/Bike Valet: Keep the traffic flowing smoothly and encourage eco-friendly transportation options.

Join us in shaping an event that brings joy, laughter, and community spirit to Port Moody! If you're ready to make a meaningful difference and have a blast doing it, we want you on our team. Together, let's make the Port Moody Golden Spike Festival the highlight of the year!
